How the RAAF could best aid in the fight against ISIL

As we go to press, it appears increasingly likely that Australia will commit forces to a US-led coalition to respond to the spread of the fundamentalist Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel has been busy visiting a number of moderate Middle Eastern and surrounding nations in recent weeks in an attempt to garner support for such a campaign beyond those countries that have already pledged support, including Australia.
