Airlines are still grappling with the premium economy conundrum
Happy 22nd birthday, premium economy, and many happy returns.
In July 1992, EVA Air started serving Los Angeles from its base in Taipei with its first Boeing 747-400 aircraft and launched Economy Deluxe. In May of the same year, Virgin Atlantic introduced Mid Class for full fare economy passengers on its jumbo jet fleet, in a peculiarly British case of history repeating the 1978 launch of Club Class, then also for full fare economy, by arch rival British Airways.
