A 17 year old Queensland pilot will fly around Australia solo this month to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and to motivate the youth of Australia to identify and actively contribute to their communities.
Alex Fisher, a Year 12 student and member of the Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC), City of Redlands – Squadron 217 will undertake the ‘Flight of Solidarity’, departing from Brisbane on June 21 and taking an 8,000nm anti-clockwise coastal route around the continent. He is due to arrive back at Archerfield on July 12, and will be flying a Cessna 172.
