“When Emirates first arrived in Australia we not a well-known brand, we partnered with the Collingwood Football Club to become part of the local community and 14 years on, it is partnerships like Collingwood that have made Emirates a household name,” Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, Marketing & Brand, Boutros Boutros said. “Collingwood was Emirates’ first major sport sponsorship in Australia, bringing together two brands synonymous with quality, leadership and dedication.”
Collingwood president Eddie McGuire added: “The globally renowned Emirates logo has adorned the black and white strip for the past 15 years and we are very pleased that our partnership will continue to go from strength to strength. To partner with a world leading brand in Emirates is to partner with excellence and the success of our partnership derives from that common goal to achieve excellence in everything we do.”
Emirates also sponsors the Victorian racing Club and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and will be a major partner for the ICC Cricket World Cup and the Asian Cup in football.
