Latrobe Valley Sabre jet flies
Jeff Trappett took his CAC Sabre into the air at Latrobe Valley airport, Victoria on September 21 on its first post-restoration flight. The aircraft, VH-SBR, previously A94-352 with the RAAF, is a CAC-built CA-27 Mk 32. Built in 1957, it was placed on the civil register on June 9 2011.
More than 100 people were gathered to view the event. Before flying the Sabre, Jeff flew a number of circuits in his Mustang to brush up on flying a high performance aircraft and to get the approach right.
