Qantas took delivery of 737‑838 VH‑XZI Kalbarri in Melbourne on October 5 after the aircraft completed its delivery flight from Boeing Field via Honolulu and Nadi as QF6024. VH‑XZI entered service on October 9 when it operated QF440 from Melbourne to Sydney.

737‑838 VH‑XZJ, which will be painted in an Aboriginal scheme, is planned for delivery in mid‑November.

747‑438 VH‑OJE was withdrawn from service in Los Angeles on August 25 after the aircraft operated QF15 from Brisbane. VH‑OJE was later ferried from Los Angeles to Victorville where it was placed in storage. VH‑OJE City of Adelaide was delivered to Sydney on January 31 ’90 after operating QF704/29 from London/Heathrow and Singapore.

767‑336ER VH‑ZXC, which was withdrawn from service on July 25 (Traffic/September), had its Qantas titles and kangaroo removed before ferrying out of Sydney on August 12 as QF6027 for Honolulu and Victorville. VH‑ZXC was cancelled from the register on August 21 as ‘exported to the USA to be parted out’, but on September 11 it was registered N796JM to the Jet Midwest Group of Wilmington, Delaware which then ferried the aircraft from Victorville to Kansas City on September 21. VH‑ZXC was delivered to Qantas at Avalon on July 1 ’00 after it ferried in from London/Heathrow via Bangkok as QF6016. The aircraft entered service with Qantas on July 17 when it operated QF506 from Sydney to Brisbane.

The departure of VH‑ZXC leaves just two Rolls‑Royce powered 767‑336ERs in the Qantas fleet, VH‑ZXE and VH‑ZXG. 767‑338ER VH‑OGG was rolled out at Sydney on September 14 in a special colour scheme advertising the Disney movie Planes . On September 14 VH‑OGG operated a special round‑trip flight as QF6620 from Sydney, with passengers watching the Australian premiere screening of the movie. VH‑OGG returned to line operations in its special scheme on September 15 when it operated QF439 from Sydney to Melbourne.

737‑838 VH‑VXR ferried from Seletar to Brisbane as QF6020 on August 8 after completing its repaint (Traffic/September).

QantasLink took delivery of 717‑2BL N406BC msn 55178 at Adelaide on September 27 after the aircraft ferried in from Cebu and Darwin as SXI 1078. The ferry flight, which was contracted to Southern Cross International, had originated at Cecil Field, Florida on September 23 with the aircraft initially routing via Billings in Montana, Anchorage and Magadan.

717‑2BL VH‑YQS ex N406BC was placed on the register on October 1.

QantasLink took delivery of Dash 8‑Q402 C‑GVRK msn 4449 in Brisbane on September 12 after the aircraft, which was operating as BBA26, ferried in from Downsview, Winnipeg, Yellowknife, Fairbanks, Anadyr, Narita, Saipan, Port Moresby and Cairns. Registered VH‑LQL on September 18, the Q400 entered service on September 28 when it operated QF2338 from Brisbane to Gladstone.

Dash 8‑Q402 VH‑LQM msn 4450, which was registered to QantasLink on September 20, was delivered as QF673D to Brisbane from Sapporo, Guam, Port Moresby and Cairns on September 28.

737‑376F VH‑XML was test flown in its new Qantas Freight colours at Christchurch on August 16 after it completed maintenance that commenced on April 24. On August 17 VH‑XML ferried to Melbourne as QF7424 before returning to service on August 19 when it operated QFA7335 from Melbourne to Sydney. Jetstar took delivery of its first 787‑8, VH‑VKA, in Melbourne on October 9 after the aircraft ferried in from Paine Field and Honolulu as JQ7878.

A320‑232/S VH‑VFP msn 5775 was delivered to Jetstar in Melbourne on September 16 after completing its ferry flight from Finkenwerder via Abu Dhabi and Singapore as JQ7992. VH‑VFP entered service with Jetstar on October 1 when it operated JQ776 from Melbourne to Adelaide.

A320‑232/S VH‑VFQ msn 5780 was delivered to Jetstar in Melbourne on September 22 after it ferried in from Finkenwerder via Abu Dhabi and Singapore as JQ7992. VH‑VFQ entered service with Jetstar on October 5 when it operated JQ792 from Melbourne to Maroochydore.

A320‑232S VH‑VFT msn 5532 was registered to Jetstar on September 20 with the aircraft planned for delivery in late October.

A320‑232 msn 5532, which had originally been allocated for Jetstar Hong Kong as the prospective B‑KJA, made its first flight as F‑WWBV on February 14, and had since remained in storage at Toulouse.

A320‑232/S VH‑VFU msn 5814, A320‑232/S VH‑VFV msn 5858 and A320‑232/S VH‑VFX msn 5871 are all planned for delivery to Jetstar later this year.

Jetstar commenced a four times weekly service from Perth to Lombok on September 24 with A320‑232/S VH‑VFN operating the inaugural JQ112.

Jetstar Asia took delivery of A320‑232/S 9V‑JSU msn 5708 in Singapore on August 24 after the aircraft ferried in from Toulouse and Abu Dhabi as JSA900.

Jetstar Hong Kong has been allocated A320‑232/S B‑KJC msn 5725.

Jetstar Japan took delivery of A320‑232/S JA15JJ msn 5701 in Narita on September 14 after the aircraft completed its ferry flight from Toulouse via Abu Dhabi and Hanoi.

A320‑232/S JA16JJ msn 5717 was delivered to Narita on September 22 from Toulouse via Abu Dhabi and Hanoi.

A320‑232/S JA17JJ msn 5732 was delivered to Narita on September 9 from Toulouse via Abu Dhabi and Hanoi.

A320‑232/S JA18JJ msn 5796 was planned for delivery to Jetstar Japan in October.

Network Aviation took delivery of Fokker 100 VH‑NHJ at Perth on August 11 on conclusion of its ferry flight, which was operated by Southern Cross International as SXI 1329, from Woensdrecht via Trabzon, Al Ain, Nagpur, Penang and Halim. VH‑NHJ entered service with Network on August 20 when it operated from Perth to Degrussa.

In this issue we report the delivery of a 737‑800 to Air Niugini and a Fokker 100 to Skippers Aviation, while departing was a 757‑200 that had been leased to Air Niugini.

Air New Zealand rolledout A320‑232/S ZK‑OXB at Christchurch on September 24 after it was painted in the new Air New Zealand silver fern colour scheme.

ZK‑OXB returned to Air New Zealand service on September 25 when it operated NZ516 from Christchurch to Auckland.

Air Niugini took delivery of 737‑8BK P2‑PXE msn 33024 in Port Moresby on September 28 after the aircraft ferried in from Lasham, UK via Al Maktoum and Seletar as PX6399.

767‑341ER P2‑PXV as flight PX6009 ferried into Port Moresby from Guangzhou on September 6 on completion of planned maintenance.

It then returned to service on September 11 as PX392 from Port Moresby to Singapore.

757‑27B TF‑FIW, which was leased to cover planned maintenance on 767‑341ER P2‑PXV and 767‑383ER P2‑PXW, was withdrawn from service on September 15 after operating PX24 from Brisbane to Port Moresby. The following day TF‑FIW departed Port Moresby as PX6010 for Manila, Sharjah and Keflavik (arriving September 19) on its return to Icelandair.

Fokker 100 P2‑ANC returned to Port Moresby on September 11 as PX6397 from Subang, Denpasar and Darwin after it had completed planned maintenance at Seletar and a repaint at Subang.

Fokker 100 msn 11472 was planned for delivery to Air Niugini in October.

Air Vanuatu ferried 737‑8Q8 YJ‑AVI from Brisbane to Darwin and Seletar on August 12 as flight NF88 and on arrival it entered the ST Aero hangar for planned maintenance. YJ‑AV1 returned to Brisbane from Seletar and Denpasar on September 9 as NF89. While YJ‑AVI was in Singapore Air Vanuatu leased 737‑377 ZK‑SLA from Airwork with the aircraft entering service on August 11 as NF21 from Brisbane to Port Vila.

Fiji Airways ferried 737‑8X2 DQ‑FJH into Nadi from Hong Kong and Guam on August 7 as FJI 2220 after the aircraft had been repainted in Fiji Airways colours (Traffic/September).

737‑86J DQ‑FJM departed Nadi on August 13 for Guam andHong Kong as FJI 2221 where it was painted in Fiji Airways colours. DQ‑FJM returned to Nadi from Hong Kong and Guam on September 3 as FJI 2222 and returned to service the same day as FJI 915 from Nadi to Sydney.

Fiji Airways was planning to take delivery of its third A330‑243, DQ‑FJV msn 1465, in November.

Cobham/National Jet removed BAe 146‑100 VH‑NJX from the register on September 2 as ‘aircraft will be scrapped’.

Skippers Aviation took delivery of Fokker 100 PH‑KXR msn 11410 at Perth on September 14 after the aircraft arrived from Bratislava.

The ferry flight, which was operated by Southern Cross International as SXI 1337, was routed via Trabzon, Al Ain, Penang and Halim. The Fokker 100 was registered VH‑XKM to Skippers on September 20.

Virgin Group news

In this issue we report the delivery of an A330‑200 and two 737‑800s to Virgin Australia and an ATR 72‑600 to Virgin Australia Regional Airlines, while departing were a 737‑800 and 737‑700 of Virgin Australia.

Virgin Australia took delivery of A330‑243 VH‑XFH Duranbah Beach in Melbourne on September 26 after the aircraft ferried in direct from Toulouse, France as VOZ9992. VH‑XFH entered service with Virgin Australia on October 6 when it operated VOZ345 from Melbourne to Brisbane.

737‑8FE VH‑YIU Middleton Beach was delivered to Brisbane on August 11 after it ferried in from Boeing Field via Lihue and Nadi as VOZ9506. VH‑YIU entered service on August 20 when it operated VOZ1497 from Brisbane to Hamilton Island.

737‑8FE VH‑YIV Cylinder Beach was delivered to Brisbane on August 23 after it ferried in from Boeing Field via Lihue and Nadi as VOZ9506. VH‑YIV entered service on September 5 when it operated VOZ304 from Brisbane to Melbourne.

737‑8Q8 VH‑VOW was withdrawn from service on August 15 after operating VOZ993 from Sydney to Brisbane. VH‑VOW, which had terminated its lease, departed Brisbane on August 18 on ferry to Darwin and Subang as VOZ9503. It was test flown on September 18 with the aircraft now carrying the colours of T’Way Airlines and on October 1, now registered HL8294 and using the callsign ‘Teeway 501D’, it departed Subang for Gimpo.

VH‑VOW Jillaroo Blue was delivered to Melbourne on May 8 ’04 as DJ9071 from Christchurch and entered service on May 25 ’04 when it operated DJ537 from Melbourne to Adelaide.

737‑7BK VH‑VBV was withdrawn from service on August 27 after operating VOZ620 from Mackay to Brisbane. VH‑VBV, which had terminated its lease, departed Brisbane on August 31 on ferry to Darwin and Subang as VOZ9501.

It was later noted at Subang on October 9 now carrying the colours of Airzena Georgian Airways to which it was later registered 4L‑TGN.

VH‑VBV Moulin Blue was delivered to Brisbane on October 21 ’03 as DJ9071 from Christchurch and entered service on October 31 ’03 when it operated DJ248 from Brisbane to Sydney.

E190‑100IGW VH‑ZPA was named Apollo Beach while under maintenance in Portugal in July (Traffic/September).

E190‑100IGW VH‑ZPB returned to Brisbane from Subang and Darwin on September 9 after completing its maintenance layup in Portugal. While in Portugal VH‑ZPB was painted in the colours of Virgin Australia and named Bicheno Beach. E190‑100IGW VH‑ZPC departed Brisbane on September 9 for Darwin and Subang and onwards to Alverca, Portugal for planned maintenance.

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines took delivery of ATR 72‑600 VH‑VPI Bronte Beach in Perth on September 17 after the aircraft completed its ferry flight from Toulouse. Ferry routing was via Alexandria, Al Ain, Nagpur, Penang and Halim.

VARA has started cycling its ATR 72‑500 fleet through Seletar for maintenance.

ATR 72‑500 VH‑FVH departed Brisbane on August 10 for Alice Springs, Port Hedland and Seletar (arriving August 11) before returning to Brisbane on August 24 from Seletar, Port Hedland and Alice Springs.

ATR 72‑500 VH‑FVI departed Brisbane on August 26 for Alice Springs, Port Hedland and Seletar (arriving August 27) before returning to Brisbane on September 9 from Seletar via Port Hedland and Alice Springs.

ATR 72‑500 VH‑FVL departed Brisbane on September 10 for Alice Springs, Port Hedland and Seletar (arriving September 11) before returning to Brisbane on September 25 from Seletar via Port Hedland and Alice Springs.

A320‑232 VH‑YUD, which was delivered to Perth on May 7, was test flown as VOZ9992 on September 16 before entering service on September 23 when it operated VOZ2601 from Perth to Derby.

Skywest Fokker 100 VH‑FNU ferried into Townsville from Seletar and Port Hedland on August 3 and on arrival entered the Flying Colours hangar where it was repainted in Virgin Australia colours. On August 23 VH‑FNU, now named Roebuck Bay, departed Townsville for Alice Springs and Perth as VOZ9950.

Skywest Fokker 100 VH‑FNR departed Perth for Townsville as VOZ9950 on Augus 25 where it was repainted in Virgin Australia colours. On September 12 VH‑FNR, now named Lake Argyle, departed Townsville for Alice Springs and Perth as VOZ9991.

Skywest Fokker 100 VH‑FNJ departed Perth for Townsville as VOZ9950 on September 20 where it was painted in Virgin Australia colours. On October 5 VH‑FNJ, now named Talbot Bay, departed Townsville for Alice Springs and Perth as VOZ9951.

Tigerair has named A320‑232 VH‑VNQ Sarah with the aircraft entering service as such on September 7.

In this issue we report the delivery of a DHC‑6‑300 to Air Kiribati, a Jetstream 41 to Brindabella Airlines and a Cessna 208B/EX to Cape Flattery Silica Mines, while departing were two BN‑2A‑26s operated by Milford Sound Flights.

Air Kiribati took delivery of DHC‑6‑300 N360CM msn 647 in early August.

Brindabella Airlines took delivery of Jetstream 41 ZS‑NRL msn 41068 in Canberra on August 3 after the aircraft completed its ferry flight from South Africa. The Jetstream was later registered to Brindabella Airlines as VH‑XNF on August 28.

Cape Flattery Silica Mines took delivery of Cessna 208B/EX N8152S msn 208B5056 in Cairns on October 1 after the aircraft completed its trans‑Pacific ferry from Merced, California via Honolulu and Majuro. The Cessna, which will be the first of type on the Australian register, will replace Cessna 208B VH‑LZK. Its ferry from Wichita to Cairns was contracted to DBF Aviation of Sydney.

Milford Sound Flights sold BN‑2A‑26s ZK‑MSF and ZK‑TSS to Ostfriesischer Flug Dienst in Germany and on September 4 they ferried out of Ardmore to Kerikeri.

Former Skywest Fokker 100 VH-FNR at Townsville after repainting at the Flying Colours facility. dave parerAfter overnighting the two Islanders departed for Pago Pago, Christmas Island and Hilo and onward stops to Germany. ZK‑MSF and ZK‑TSS were cancelled from the New Zealand register on September 26.

Bizjet news

In this issue we report the delivery of a Gulfstream 650, Gulfstream 550, Learjet 45 and Phenom 100. Departing were a Gulfstream V and a Learjet 60 while a Westwind was cancelled from the register.

Gulfstream 650 ZK‑KFB, the first of its type in the region, was registered to ExecuJet New Zealand on October 4 with the aircraft being delivered to its Wellington base from Los Angeles on October 5.

Gulfstream 550 N818LF has reportedly been delivered to Westfield Aviation as a replacement for Gulfstream V N36GV. N818LF was first reported arriving in Sydney from Honolulu on August 26.

Learjet 45 VH‑LJX msn 45‑056 was delivered to Essendon from Guam and Port Moresby on August 31. Earlier on August 27 VH‑LJX was placed on the Australian register with the holder being Turbojet Holdings of Tullamarine, Victoria and the operator Jet City of Tullamarine.

Phenom 100 VH‑LWZ msn 50000306 was placed on the Australian register on August 2 with the holder being China Southern West Australian Flying College of Willenton, WA and operator Revesco Aviation of Belmont, WA. VH‑LWZ was delivered to Jandakot on August 11 after ferrying in from Denpasar and Port Hedland.

Shazo Holdings Learjet 60 VH‑SBU, which was flown to the USA in early February ’12, was cancelled from the register on September 23 after being sold.

Pel‑Air Aviation Westwind VH‑AJK was cancelled from the register on August 23 as ‘withdrawn from service’.

Pel‑Air Aviation Westwind II VH‑NGA, which ditched in the sea off Norfolk Island on November 18 ’09, was cancelled from the register on August 23 as ‘withdrawn from service’.

Falcon 2000EX F‑GZLX arrived at Hamilton Island from Bangkok and Darwin on August 6 and later moved to Bankstown on August 14 where it was still resident as of early October. It is reported F‑GZLX is being operated by Balmoral Air as a temporary replacement for its Falcon 2000EX VH‑WIO which departed the country in early June and was noted at Paris/Le Bourget on June 16 with its registration taped over.

AVWest Aircraft has again changed its operational Global Express with Global Express N433DC msn 9262 arriving in Perth from Seletar on September 23 as a replacement for the previously‑operated Global Express N185GX.

Australian Capital Corporation of Rocklea, Queensland changed the registration of its Cessna 501 VH‑MMC to VH‑CSP on August 26.

JM Kelly (Project Builders) of Central Queensland Cessna 550 VH‑JMK was cancelled from the register on August 5 and then placed on the PNG register as P2‑JMK.

SGE Engineering CJ1 N54BP, which has been based at Essendon since March 30 ’06, has been sold. VH‑SIY ex N54BP was registered on September 25 with the holder Machjet of Cooroy, Queensland and the operator Machjet International of Peregian Beach, Queensland.

Citation II VH‑ZLE, which was operated by the China Southern West Australian Flying College, was sold on September 4 with the new holder being the Westpac Banking Corporation of Concord West, NSW and the operator Corporate Aircraft Charter of Adelaide Airport.

Hawker 900XP VH‑NKD, which was operated by FMR Investments of South Perth, was sold on September 2 with the holder and operator changing to CML Aviation of Brisbane.

Maxem Aviation of Applecross, WA became the registered operator of Challenger 600 VH‑JPQ on July 18.

Tower Holdings of North Sydney became the registered operator of Challenger 604 VH‑EVJ on August 30.

Mackellar Mining Equipment of Maroochydore, Queensland became the registered operator of Citation Ultra VH‑SJP on August 16.

Cessna Aircraft Citation CJ4 N485CJ arrived at Maroochydore from Seletar and Darwin on August 15 at the start of a demonstration tour of Australia and Noumea. The CJ4 was noted at Archerfield, Gold Coast, Noumea/Magenta, Brisbane, Armidale and Bankstown before it departed the Gold Coast on August 20 for Darwin, Halim and Seletar.

Gulfstream Aerospace Gulfstream 150 N150GD arrived at Essendon from Seletar and Darwin on September 14 and was demonstrated at Essendon and Adelaide before departing Essendon for Papeete on September 17.

Gulfstream Aerospace Gulfstream 450 N450GA arrived in Canberra from Pago Pago on August 25 and the following day visited RAAF Richmond before overnighting in Sydney. N450GA arrived at Essendon on August 27 before departing on August 30 for Halim.

In propjet news King Air 250 N175EU operated a demonstration tour of Australia and New Zealand. To commence the tour N175EU arrived at Ardmore on September 29from Denpasar, Darwin, Mt Isa, Gold Coast and Auckland.

Machjet King Air B200 VH‑ZMY was cancelled from the register on September 18 and was noted at Cairns on September 25 now registered P2‑ZMY.

MU‑2B‑25 N50ET, which is registered to the Eumundi Trading Company of Wilmington, Delaware visited Australia in early September while on a round‑the‑world flight to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the MU‑2.

N50ET arrived at Broome from Denpasar on September 4 and was later noted at Ayers Rock, Latrobe Valley and Bundaberg before departing Horn Island for Biak on September 11.
