Sea-change in government-industry relations?
An encouraging start as new government grasps the issues
The aviation industry rarely ceases to amaze and inspire. The RAAA Annual Meeting and Convention was concluded recently and the atmosphere was very positive. Change is in the air and it seemed to re-energise previously jaded industry participants.
The Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss opened the convention and reinforced the new government’s aviation policies announced prior to the election. He knows he will be held to account and he showed no signs of backing away. Delegates took every opportunity to engage with him as he toured the exhibition hall. He mentioned he had issues with the governance of some of the government aviation agencies. This point was not missed and he hinted at further change to come.
