Airbus Military has released this image and basic details of a C295 modified as an aerial firebomber undergoing flight trials.
“Airbus Military has begun trials of water bombing with a specially modified C295 aircraft at a site near Cordoba, Spain specialized in firefighting,” the company said in a statement. “The flights went well and further tests are planned in the near future to make a more detailed analysis of the C295 as a firefighter aircraft.”
