Aviation training organisation Aviation Australia and FIFO operator Alliance Airlines will enhance their joint training efforts under a memorandum of understanding signed between the parties this week.

The MoU will see Alliance agreeing to employ up to seven graduates of Aviation Australia’s Aeroskills training program as apprentices in 2014 and the placement into storage of one of the airlines Fokker 100s at Aviation Australia’s Brisbane premises.

Aviation Australia’s cabin crew training programs will be updated to better reflect the requirements of Alliance and reduce the initial time to train for Alliance cabin crew. Further under the agreement will be the joint development of a Fokker 100/Fokker 70 door trainer to enable Fokker 100/70 door training for Alliance flight and cabin crews.

The MoU stands to underpin a number of other potential programs of collaboration with a focus on the Fokker 100 and
70 aircraft.

Alliance Airlines managing director Scott McMillan said: “We are pleased to join Aviation Australia in this partnership which will facilitate a mutual exchange of best practice techniques and innovations in engineering, flight crew operations and training between our organisations.”
