North korea
A unique aviation tour
Air Koryo, the national airline of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK – North Korea), is unique in the world, concentrating its fleet of Soviet and post-Soviet airliners on a Pyongyang flight line that would attract the envy of aviation enthusiasts around the world.
My tour in May 2013 included spotters from almost every continent and we were treated to a week of unsurpassed aviation photography and flying served with generous hospitality. Starting and ending in Beijing, the week commenced with a meet-and-greet dinner and the issue of visas and e-tickets for the flight into Pyongyang.
