737-838 VH-XZG Bundendore, which was delivered to Melbourne on June 7 (Traffic/July), entered service on June 11 when it operated QF430 from Melbourne to Sydney.

737-838 VH-XZI msn 39364, 737-838 VH-XZJ msn 39365 and 737-838 VH-XZK msn 39366 were registered to Qantas on May 27.

737-476 VH-TJJ, which was withdrawn from service on June 3 (Traffic/July), had its Qantas titles and kangaroo removed before it departed Melbourne as QF6027 on June 10 for Sydney, Apia, Honolulu and Victorville, California where it was placed in storage.

737-476 VH-TJJ Heron was delivered to Australian Airlines in Melbourne on December 15 ’90 after the aircraft ferried in from Boeing Field via Honolulu and Nadi as TN1399.

The departure of VH-TJJ leaves the Qantas 737-400 fleet at just six, these being VH-TJI, VH-TJR, VH-TJS, VH-TJX, VH-TJY and VH-TJZ.

767-336ER VH-ZXF, which was withdrawn from service on May 26 (Traffic/July), had its Qantas titles and kangaroo removed before departing Sydney on June 30 for Shanghai as QF6025.

VH-ZXF was delivered to Qantas in Sydney on September 8 ’00 after the aircraft ferried in from London/Heathrow via Bangkok as QF7626. ZH-ZXF entered service with Qantas on September 10 when it operated QF534 from Sydney to Brisbane.

747-438 VH-OJJ, which departed Sydney for Marana, Arizona on March 10 (Traffic/June), was cancelled from the register on June 4 as ‘Exported to the USA and sold as parts’.

A380-842 VH-OQB ferried into Sydney from Manila as QF6016 on June 12 after undergoing cabin reconfiguration work with Lufthansa Technik (Traffic/July).

Jetstar took delivery of A320-232/S VH-VFO in Melbourne on June 9 after the aircraft ferried in from Finkenwerder, Abu Dhabi and Singapore as JQ7992. VH-VFO entered service on June 21 when it operated JQ506 from Melbourne to Sydney.

Jetstar Asia removed A320-232 9V-JSD from storage at Seletar and on June 12, now registered TC-JUI, it departed for Delhi and Istanbul on delivery to Turkish Airlines as flight THY6901.

Jetstar Japan took delivery of A320-232/S JA13JJ msn 5649 at Narita on June 28 after the aircraft completed its ferry flight from Toulouse via Abu Dhabi and Singapore.

Airline News

In this issue we report the delivery of an A320-200/S to Air New Zealand and a Fokker 100 to Skippers Aviation while departing was a 737-300 of Air New Zealand.

Air New Zealand took delivery of A320-232/S ZK-OXA in Auckland on June 21. The A320-232/S, which was the first of type in the Air New Zealand fleet to be fitted with Sharklets, was initially ferried as F-WWBH from Toulouse to Le Bourget on June 15 where it was displayed at the Paris Air Show. On June 19 A320-232/S ZK-OXA departed Le Bourget as NZ6399 for Muscat, Singapore, Cairns and Auckland. ZK-OXA entered service with Air New Zealand on June 28 when it operated NZ451 from Auckland to Wellington.

A320-232/S ZK-OXB msn 5682 was planned for delivery to Air New Zealand in Christchurch in late July.

A320-232 ZK-OJS returned to domestic service on June 9 after being painted in the interim Air New Zealand colour scheme of black tail and white fuselage.

A320-232 ZK-OJC returned to service after its repaint on June 15 when it operated NZ803 from Christchurch to Brisbane.

737-3U3 ZK-NGE, which was withdrawn from service at Christchurch on January 10 (Traffic/March), has been sold overseas. On June 22 ZK-NGE, with its Air New Zealand titles and Koru removed, departed Christchurch on ferry to Shannon, Ireland on delivery to K V Aviation. The ferry, which was contracted to Southern Cross International, was operated via Cairns, Denpasar, Colombo, Al Ain, Trabzon and Belgrade as SXI 1330.

737-3U3 ZK-NGE was delivered to Air New Zealand in Christchurch on November 6 ‘99 after the aircraft ferried in from Shannon via North America.

Air Niugini took delivery of Dash 8-314 P2-PXL in Port Moresby on June 11 after the aircraft completed its ferry flight from North Bay, Canada via Sapporo and Saipan.

Air Pacific ferried 737-7X2 DQ-FJF into Nadi on June 8 as FJI 2220 from Hong Kong and Guam after the aircraft had been painted in the colours of Fiji Airways. DQ-FJF returned to service on June 9 when it operated FJI 253 from Nadi to Apia.

Alliance Airlines placed Fokker 70 VH-JFB into service on June 7 when the aircraft operating QQ712 from Brisbane to Cloncurry.

Our Airline took delivery of all-white 737-36N N325MS at Melbourne on March 16 (Traffic/May) and later registered the aircraft VH-PNI. On June 28 737-86N VH-PNI was noted in the John Holland Aviation Services hangar at Melbourne after being painted in the colours and titles of Our Airline.

Skippers Aviation registered Fokker 100 VH-XKN msn 11420 on June 28. On June 18 Fokker 100 PH-LXG, which was the first of type delivered to Skippers, arrived at Perth from Bratislava via Trabzon, Al Ain, Nagpur, Penang and Halim. The ferry flight, which was contracted to Southern Cross International, operated as SXI 1328.

Skippers Cessna 441 VH-LBX was cancelled from the register June 7 as ‘retired from service’.

Skyforce Aviation took delivery of BAe 146-200(QC) G-ZAPN at Bankstown on April 9 and on May 28 they placed the aircraft on the register as VH-SIF.

Tasman Cargo Airlines rolled out 757-236(PCF) VH-TCA at Auckland on July 3 after the 757-236(PCF), which carries DHL colours had its registration changed from G-CSVS.

Tiger Airways Australia changed its name to Tigerair on July 3 and that morning rolled out A320-232 VH-VNQ in the colours and titles of Tigerair. VH-VNQ entered service with Tigerair that same day when it operated TGW436 from Melbourne to Alice Springs, however problems with the decals necessitated their removal.

Toll Priority placed 737-3B7(F) ZK-FXT into service on June 12 when the aircraft operated TFR21 from Brisbane to Sydney.

Virgin Group News

In this issue we report the delivery of a 737-800 to Virgin Australia.

Virgin Australia took delivery of 737-8FE VH-YFQ Whiting Beach in Brisbane on June 20 after the aircraft ferried in from Boeing Field, Lihue and Nadi as VOZ9502.

VH-YFQ entered service on July 1 when it operated VOZ1245 from Brisbane to Rockhampton.

737-8FE VH-YFP Nobby’s Beach, which was delivered to Brisbane on June 6 (Traffic/July), entered service on June 18 when it operated VOZ352 from Brisbane to Melbourne.

737-8Q8 VH-VOU was cancelled from the register on June 3 as ‘exported to Korea’ (Traffic/July). 737-8Q8 VH-VOU Blue Billie was delivered to Virgin Blue in Melbourne on March 4 ’04 after ferrying in from Christchurch as DJ9068.

E190-100IGW VH-ZPO, which had departed Brisbane on May 14 on ferry to Alverca, Portugal for planned maintenance (Traffic/July), returned to Brisbane on June 23 from Subang and Darwin.

E190-100IGW VH-ZPA departed Brisbane on June 20 as flight VOZ9501 for Darwin, Subang and stops to Alverca to take its turn in the OGMA maintenance facility.

Regional Airline News

In this issue we report the delivery of a Xi’an MA60 to Real Tonga, ATR 42-500 to Hevilift PNG and a Jetstream 41 to Brindabella, while departing was a Dash 8-100 of Skytrans.

Aeropelican operated its final service on June 21 when Jetstream 32 VH-OTD was scheduled on flight OT5020 from Newcastle to Sydney. Effective June 22, all Aeropelican services were flown under the banner of parent company Brindabella Airlines.

Air Caledonie ferried DHC-6-300 F-OIAQ into Cairns as flight ACI 900 from Port Vila Honiara, Buka and Port Moresby on June 8, with the aircraft then entering the Hawker Pacific hangar for planned maintenance.

Air Chathams ferried Convair 580 ZK-CIF from Tonga to Auckland to AKL on June 12 and Convair 580 ZK-CIB from Auckland to Tonga on June 13 where it commenced operations with Real Tonga.

Airlines PNG has reportedly leased Dash 8-103 S2-AER msn 366, which was last operated by United Airways of Dhaka.

Air Tahiti was planned to take delivery of ATR 42-600 F-ORVB msn 1007 in July.

Brindabella Airlines took delivery of Jetstream 41 ZS-NRK msn 41065 in Canberra on June 23 after the former SA Airlink aircraft completed its ferry flight from South Africa via Denpasar, Darwin and Mt Isa. The Jetstream, which was delivered in the colours of Brindabella Airlines, was later registered VH-XNE.

Jetstream 41 ZS-NRL msn 41068 was planned for delivery to Brindabella in July.

Hevylift (PNG) took delivery of ATR 42-500 OY-RUL msn 501 at Cairns in the early hours of July 1 after the former Danish Air Transport aircraft completed its ferry flight from Copenhagen via Paphos, Al Ain and Kupang as GCW 1429.

DHC-6-400 P2-KSY, which was delivered to Hevilift in Cairns as C-FVAT on May 30 (Traffic/July), departed for Port Moresby on June 8.

Real Tonga took delivery of Xi’an MA60 A3-RTL ex B-1027L in Tonga on July 3 after the aircraft completed its ferry flight from Xi’an via Biak, Port Moresby and Pekoa. The ferry, which was contracted to Southern Cross Aviation, operated as SXA 1060.

Skytrans has sold Dash 8-102 VH-QQJ in North America and on June 27 with Skytrans titles removed it departed Cairns for Majuro and Honolulu.

Vincent Aviation cancelled Saab 340B ZK-VAB from the New Zealand register on June 10 and placed it on the Australia register as VH-VNU on June 13.

Bizjet News

Hawker 800XP VH-OVE changed its registered holder from Alexya P/L of Melbourne to Asia Pacific Jets of Singapore on June 4 and the same day its registered operator from Shortstop Jet Charter of Essendon to A P Jets P/L, of Artarmon, NSW. On May 31 VH-OVE departed Essendon for Port Hedland and Seletar where it is now based, however it is understood the Hawker will remain on the Australian register.

Premier VH-VHP departed Bankstown on May 30 for Essendon where it is now based and the following day the its registered holder and operator changed to RATE (Australia) P/L of Broadmeadows, Victoria.

Falcon 2000LX N2000A and Gulfstream 150 N150GD were demonstrated in Australia in this period. Falcon 2000LX N2000A was the first to arrive when it touched down at Brisbane from Hong Kong on June 17. After overnighting the Falcon 2000LX continued to the Gold Coast and Essendon where it remained until June 20 when it departed for Perth and the Gold Coast. N2000A departed the Gold Coast for Cairns and Shanghai on June 21.

Gulfstream 150 N150GD arrived in Perth on June 23 from Don Muang and Halim before continuing to Essendon on June 24 and Sydney on June 27. On termination of its tour the Gulfstream 150 departed Sydney for Pago Pago and Kona on June 29.

Changes on the bizprop scene include King Air B200 VH-ISS msn BB-1008, which was registered on June 4 with the holder being Rotor Safety P/L, of Rosny Park, Tasmania and the operator SkyTrek P/L of Rosney Park. The King Air B200 was previously operated by the Royal New Zealand Air Force as NZ1882, however as at the end of June VH ISS had still not crossed the Tasman.

Socata TBM-850 N850BF msn 658 arrived at Perth/Jandakot on June 17 after ferrying in from Denpasar and Broome and on June 19 it was registered VH-TBM to Starmund Investments P/L of Cottesloe, Western Australia.

PC-12/47E VH-WBI, which was delivered to Adelaide as HB-FRT on May 1 (Traffic/June), was demonstrated in PNG and New Zealand in this period. On June 11 VH-WBI departed Cairns for Port Moresby before it returned south to Cairns and the Gold Coast on June 13. On June 16 the PC-12/47E departed the Gold Coast direct to Wellington and while in New Zealand it was noted at Dunedin, Invercargill and Christchurch before departing Auckland for Norfolk Island and the Gold Coast on June 22.

Gulfstreams Galore

M S Financing Gulfstream 550 N168NJ arrived in Melbourne from Honolulu on June 16 and remained there until June 23 when it departed for Kununurra and Darwin. On June 27 N168NJ departed for Kununurra and Broome before continuing to Honolulu on June 30.

Arrow Plane Gulfstream 550 N528AP arrived in Sydney from Honolulu on June 9 and after overnighting it departed for Gimpo.

Metrojet Gulfstream 550 N888XS arrived in Melbourne from Hong Kong on June 20 and after overnighting it departed for Macau.

G C Air Gulfstream 550 N3050 arrived in Canberra from Honolulu on June 25 before continuing to Newcastle and Brisbane on June 27 and Honolulu on June 28.

Gulfstream 550 B-KVE arrived in Melbourne from Singapore on June 7.

Metrojet Gulfstream 550 B-LDL arrived in Sydney from Beijing on June 12 and remained there until June 16 when it departed for Hong Kong.

Metrojet Gulfstream 550 B-LUE arrived in Cairns from Hong Kong on June 14 before returning to Hong Kong on June 16.

Nanshan Jet Gulfstream 550 B-8260 as flight NSJ861 arrived in Sydney from Beijing on June 20 and after overnighting departed for Singapore as NSJ862.

SirioGulfstream 550 I-LUXO arrived in Sydney from Hong Kong on June 9 and departed for Bangkok/Don Muang on June 11.

TAG Aviation Asia Gulfstream 550 M-GVSP callsign ‘Tagjet 10’ arrived in Sydney from Halim on June 18 and departed to Hong Kong on June 21.

Executive Aircraft Gulfstream 550 M-YBJK arrived in Sydney from Honolulu on June 14 and departed for Halim on June 16.

Warbler Gulfstream V N505D arrived in Sydney from Beijing on June 6 before continuing to Melbourne on June 10. N505D departed Melbourne for the Gold Coast on June 11 and after overnighting continued to Honolulu.

Hermes Executive Aviation Gulfstream V M-JIGG arrived at Proserpine from Seletar and Cairns on June 28. M-JIGG departed for Ayers Rock on July 1 before returning to Proserpine on July 2. The Gulfstream V departed Proserpine for Darwin on July 7.

High Point Airline Gulfstream 450 VP-CHH arrived in Sydney from Cebu on June 12 before continuing to the Gold Coast on June 14 and Cairns on June 16. VP-CHH departed Cairns for Hong Kong on June 18.

Asia Jet Gulfstream IV N688TF arrived at Maroochydore from Hong Kong and Cairns on June 7 before departing for Cairns and Hong Kong on June 11. On June 14 N688TF arrived in Cairns from Hong Kong before returning to Hong Kong on June 16. The Gulfstream IV made a third visit to Australia in this period arriving in Brisbane from Davao on June 22 and departing to Palau on June 26.

USNavy G-IV/C-20G 165093 callsign ‘Convoy 2688’ transitted Darwin on June 29 while en-route from Whenuapai to Guam.

Overseas Bizjets

Country Garden Global 6000 N88GZ arrived in Perth from Guangzhou on June 6 and was later noted at Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane before departing Cairns for Guangzhou on June 14.

VistaJet Global Express 9H-VJA call sign VJT741 arrived in Sydney from Shanghai on June 21 and departed Sydney on June 24 for Adelaide and Hong Kong.

Independent Aviation Sdn Global 5000 N933ML arrived at Essendon from Honiara on June 15 and departed for Suva on June 17.

TAG Aviation Asia Global 5000 N103ZZ callsign ‘Tagjet 29’ arrived in Sydney from Hong Kong on June 15 before returning to Hong Kong on June 16.

Golden Medal Global 5000 VP-CGM arrived in Sydney from Hong Kong on June 14 before returning to Hong Kong on June 16.

Lonpar Challenger 604 N604CD arrived in Melbourne from Kuala Lumpur/Subang on June 28 before continuing to Sydney on June 30. The Challenger 604 departed Sydney for Christchurch on July 2.

Challenger 604 VP-CBK arrived in Melbourne from Halim on June 25 and after overnighting continued to Sydney. The Challenger 604 departed Sydney for Halim on June 29.

Island Park Aviation Challenger 300 N167RD arrived at Hamilton Island from Majuro and Cairns on June 15 and was later noted at Mackay, Emerald, Brisbane, Maroochydore, Bundaberg, Katherine and Kununurra before departing Darwin for Seletar on June 22.

Archer-Daniels Midland Company Falcon 7X N787AD arrived in Sydney from Honolulu on June 25 before returning to Honolulu on June 27.

Minsheng Financial Leasing Company Falcon 900LX B-8208 arrived in Sydney from Singapore on June 20 and after overnighting continued to Melbourne. B-8208 moved to Essendon on June 26 before departing for Manila on June 28.

T W Equipment Leasing Citation Sovereign N67TW arrived in Sydney from Queenstown on June 7 before continuing to Hamilton Island on June 10. N67TW departed Hamilton Island for Cairns and Majuro on June 13.

Airfast Indonesia ERJ-145 PK-OME arrived in Cairns from Denpasar and Dili on June 14 and after overnighting departed to Port Moresby.

Executive Jets Asia Hawker 700 RP-C5998 operated a medevac flight from Denpasar to Perth on June 20 before returning to Denpasar the same day. RP-C5998 arrived in Brisbane from Denpasar and Darwin on June 23 before departing the same day for Darwin and Halim.

Ferry Flights

Air Tractor 802A N8521D msn 802A-0511 arrived at Parafield on June 28 after ferrying in from Olney, Texas via Santa Maria, Honolulu, Majuro, Honiara, Gold Coast and Albury. The ferry was operated by SRD Aviation of Albury.

Cessna 208B/EX N506EX msn 208B5006 arrived in Cairns from Merauke on June 7 at the start of a demonstration tour of Australia. The Cessna 208B/EX was later reported at Townsville, Hamilton Island and Brisbane before arriving at Bankstown on June 11. On June 27 Cessna 208B/EX departed Bankstown and was reported at the Gold Coast, Maroochydore, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Broken Hill and William Creek before overnighting Darwin on July 7.

Cessna 208B/EX N2013Z msn 208B5007 arrived at Nadi on July 6 after crossing the Pacific from Santa Maria, California via Honolulu and Pago Pago.

Jhonlin Air Transport Cessna 208B PK-JBC arrived at Cairns from Merauke on June 10 before returning to Merauke on June 23. The ferry flight was operated by Globeflyers of Valley Center, Kansas.

Cessna 182Q N95803 arrived at Jandakot from Geraldton on May 24.

Cirrus SR-22 VH-OLS departed Merimbula for Wollongong on June 29 and after overnighting continued to Norfolk Island and Pago Pago.

Salt Air GA-8 ZK-MAB arrived at Essendon on June 6 after a direct flight from Kerikeri, New Zealand.

Lancair ES N188JK registered to JK Aviation of Woodside, California arrived at the Gold Coast on June 27 from Hilo, Christmas Island, Pago Pago and Norfolk Island.

Mooney 20P N84TF arrived at the Gold Coast on June 16 after completing its Trans-Pacific ferry from Santa Maria via Hilo and Pago Pago. On June 19 Mooney 20P N84TF departed the Gold Coast direct to Jandakot.

PAC 750XL ZK-KCI, which was being ferried by SRD Aviation of Albury, arrived at Jandakot on June 13 from Hamilton via Lord Howe Island, Gold Coast, Moree and Ceduna. On June 26 the PAC 750XL was registered VH-UTW to UTS Aviation P/L of Malaga, WA.

Golden Eagle Aviation BN2A-26 VH-EGE ferried from the Gold Coast to Port Vila on June 20 and on June 27 the Islander was cancelled from the register as ‘Exported to Vanuatu’.

Heavy Metal

MASkargo A330-223F 9M-MUB as flight MAS6451 arrived in Darwin from Labuan on June 21 and the same day departed for Kuala Lumpur as MAS6452.

Atlas Air 747-87UF N854GT as flight GTI3015 arrived in Perth from Bombay on June 19 and the same day departed to Hong Kong as GTI3016.

Nippon Cargo Airlines 747-4KZF JA05KZ as flight NCA6010 arrived in Townsville from Kadena on June 26 and the same day departed for Narita as NCA620.

US Navy 737-7AFC/C-40A 165829 call sign Convoy 7621 arrived in Darwin from Kadena AFB on June 30 and the next day departed to Atsugi NAS.

US Government Dornier 328-120/C-146A 10-03077 callsign Magma 5 arrived at Darwin from Ambon on June 27 in company with Dornier 328-120/C-146A 11-03075 call sign Magma 6. After overnighting the Dornier C-146As departed Darwin for Townsville before returning the same day to Darwin.

Alci Aviation DC-3/BT-67 C-FTGX, which carries Bell Geospace titles, arrived in Darwin from Katherine on June 25 and after overnighting departed for Kupang on what appears to be the end of the contract in Australia. The BT-67, which is fitted with a MAD boom, had earlier arrived in Darwin from Balikpapen on February 24.

Volga Dnepr IL-76TD-90VD RA-76503 as VDA6279 arrived in Perth from Port Moresby on July 4 and after overnighting departed for Kuala Lumpur as VDA6282.

Lynden Cargo L-382G P2-LAD as flight LYC2018 arrived in Perth from Nadzab and Cairns on June 20. P2-LAD departed Perth for Cairns on June 22 and after overnighting continued to Port Moresby.

Safair L-382G ZS-RSC, which had been parked at Brisbane since May 10 departed on July 6 for Broome as ‘Safair 515’.

US Navy C-130T 165314/JW callsign ‘Convoy 7682’ arrived in Darwin from Atsugi NAS on June 30. Later on July 5 the C-130T departed Rockhampton for Townsville and Guam
