New York based JetBlue Airways announced on June 10 that an order had been placed for 100 Embraer 190 airliners plus a further 100 options. If all options are exercised the value of the deal will reach US$6 billion. This order sees JetBlue become the launch customer for this model of the Embraer 170/190 family with their aircraft to be delivered at a rate of 18 aircraft per year through to 2011.
