An inaugural trade show for recreational, sports and general aviation has been postponed until 2014.
Organisers of the Aviatex show said the decision to push back the event, which had been scheduled for next month, came in response to industry feedback.

“After widespread industry consultation, we are convinced that Aviatex offers the well-located, professionally presented and affordable trade show the industry is looking for,” organiser March Bright of Bright Events said in a statement.
“However, 2012-13 has been a busy financial year for the aviation industry, with many businesses participating in regional and international trade events in Australia and overseas. We have been encouraged by the large number of exhibitors wanting to participate in Aviatex, but most have indicated a preference to prepare for 2014.”
Bright said the inaugural event would be held from May 2-4 2014 at Illawara Regional Airport as the trade show component of the Wings Over Illawara air show. Thenceforth the trade show will be held biennially rather than annually as had been previously planned, Bright said.
