Aviation/Aerospace Australia unveils new leadership team

written by australianaviation.com.au | April 22, 2013

Aviation/Aerospace Australia (A/AA) has announced an organisational restructure with the organisation’s deputy Chair Paul Fox appointed to the newly-created role of executive director. He will be responsible for stakeholder relations, international development, resources and governance.

Fox will remain on the Board, and will joined by new director Jim Carden who has resigned as CEO to pursue other opportunities.

A/AA chair John Duddy said one of the first responsibilities of the new executive director would be the appointment of a general manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the association and to drive member services.

Duddy said the revised structure reflected the new priorities of the Association, with a particular emphasis on the development of “a truly national Association with strategic international networks”.

“The success of the 2013 Asia Pacific Aviation and Aerospace Leaders Summit earlier this year really drove home the point that the future of this great industry lies in making sure we transform into a more productive, efficient and competitive industry, and are ready to take our opportunities in emerging international markets. A/AA is clearly best placed to drive this transformation, and the new structure will ensure we are ready to lead from the front,” Duddy said.

Duddy welcomed the appointment of Paul Fox, whom he said was “instrumental in the establishment of the Association, and has made an indelible mark on the Association’s success with his entrepreneurial spirit, extensive industry networks and a passion for aviation.” He also thanked Jim Carden for his service to the Association, and welcomed his appointment to the Board of Directors, which he said would help deliver continuity for the many initiatives that had been established over the past year.

Further Board appointments will be announced shortly.
