Australian firm AMP has acquired a 49 per cent share in Newcastle International Airport in northeast England.
In a deal reportedly worth £150m (A$233m), AMP will acquire the shares sold by Copenhagen Airports. The remaining stake in the airport will be retained by seven local councils.

Copenhagen is divesting itself of all interests outside Denmark as part of a new strategic plan to concentrate efforts on its core home market.
