A HANDS-ON CAREER Aviation maintenance offers a rewarding career for those prepared to get their hands dirty. (Paul Sadler)
Time to re-engage
Travel really can give you a fresh perspective. As I exited the aircraft after a long flight from Bangkok to Frankfurtrecently I noticed 30 or so fellow passengers ahead of me staring intently at an aircraft parked next to our 747.
Almost everyone had their mobile phones out and were taking photos with considerable enthusiasm. The object of their interest — a new 787 Dreamliner on one its first revenue flights from Japan.
These were not necessarily aviation professionals nor enthusiasts but informed members of the public excited to see this much-anticipated Boeing. It was the same reaction a few years ago when people came across the A380 for the first time.
