The first former V Australia Boeing 777-300ER to be repainted in Virgin Australia colours has re-entered service.
VH-VPH St Kilda Beach ferried from Sydney to Singapore on March 26 where it was painted in Virgin Australia colours.

I still think the new scheme is just a little too bland. Maybe the Virgin Australia text needs to be a little darker?
Red on white is great though.
Also remove the flying lady symbols on the nose’s, It just looks like graffiti from a distance.

If they could incorporate the Southern Cross design as they did with the silver scheme it would be a lot more appealing…
Otherwise it just looks like a budget Qantas brand.

Come on. I think Virgin Australia are trying to be more conservative and lose the exciting image that Virgin Blue started with. Making their planes bland and indistiguishable rather than the red jets is just part of the strategy.

So they want to be the bland Toyota Camry of the air. For what they paid the designer to redo the logo they could have run a competion as they did when they started the name.

Hopefully DJ will do as VS does, and update the livery in a few years. It is too bland – the silver lettering is a bad idea, in bright sunlight it’s virtually unreadable. Perhaps matching VS’s red engine cowlings would be a good idea too, making the aircraft still more distinguishable from QF’s.

NOW if only Mr joyce would get his head out of his tukass and admit the QANTAS needs the 777 but he won’t cause EGO won’t let him and he would have to say he is wrong FOR NOT HAVING THE AIRLINER IN THE FLEET . ALLAN QANTAS NEEDS THE 777 JUST GET OVER YOURSELF AND ADMIT YOU AND THE BOARD ARE WRONG.!!!!!!!!!!!
Think the new Virgin Australia paint job would look better with Virgin Atlantic-style coloured tails and the logo reading upwards on both sides. It looks like a 5year old had a go with photoshop to see how big they could get the logo.

Ahhh Virgin doesn’t do anything for me what ever colour it is. Funny howpeople kick up a stick about Qantas outsourcing jobs overseas where as Virgin Australia mostly has all there services done overseas.

Probably not a 777 but there is a paint shop in Townville that can do 737’s. Get the unions onto virgin over that one.

Have a peek through the doors of the paint shop hangar in Townsville, you might be surprised to see a VA 737 in there being painted from time to time…
