Auckland Airport will auction off piece of its old school flight information board to raise money for charity.
More than 100 pieces of the solari board – described by the airport at “the type that flicks through the alphabet to find the right letter” – are up for online auction beginning at 9 am tomorrow and running for two weeks.

The board was decommissioned in December and was believed to be the last of its kind in New Zealand, the airport said.
Proceeds from the auction will go to the Foundation for Youth Development, a charity that “helps young people develop confidence and self-belief and create goals for the future.” The auction is being held through the website www.trademe.co.nz.
