Spirit firms up A320 order

Spirit Airlines has firmed up an order for 75 A320 Family aircraft, including 45 A320neos. (Airbus)

US budget carrier Spirit Airlines has added 30 Airbus A320s to an order for 45 A320neos booked in December. A memorandum of understanding for the deal was announced at last year’s Dubai Airshow.

Designed for improved fuel efficiency, the re-engined A320neo is due to begin deliveries in 2015. Spirit has not yet announced its engine selection for the newly ordered aircraft, Airbus said.
