If you ever felt like going on vacation without knowing where you were going, Virgin has the deal for you. (Andrew McLaughlin)

Ever felt like booking a getaway without knowing where you’d end up? If so, Virgin Australia has the deal for you.

The unconventional “Mystery Breaks” packages include return airfare and 4- or 5-star accomodation in a range of beach and capital city destinations – but you won’t find out which one until a few days before you leave, according to the airline.

The packages, available from today, can be booked up to two weeks in advance. One night getaways run $399 per person while two or three night trips cost $499 or $599. The packages depart from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Travellers can exclude one destination from the list of more than 20 possibilities, but beyond that it’s up to the airline.
