Jetstar launched its new three-times weekly direct service between Cairns and Auckland on April 12, adding more than 55,000 seats a year to the market.
“We believe this new international Jetstar route will be a welcome benefit for Queensland tourism during its recovery from recent significant natural disasters,” Jetstar Australia and New Zealand CEO David Hall said.

Flight JQ290 departs Auckland at 18.30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, landing in Cairns at 22.10, while the return JQ291 departs Cairns at 23.00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, arriving in Auckland at 05.30.
Auckland becomes Jetstar’s 11th destination to be served from Cairns.
