A 20 per cent growth in international visitor numbers from China will see Air New Zealand add two more direct flights each week between Auckland, Beijing and Shanghai.
Subject to government and landing slot approval, the airline will add an extra Tuesday Auckland-Beijing return service from December 6, and an additional Sunday Auckland-Shanghai return service over New Zealand’s peak summer season from December 11 through to March 18 2012.

Air New Zealand currently operates two return Beijing services per week on Wednesday and Saturday, with three return Shanghai flights a week on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The newly announced services will see Air New Zealand offer more than 4250 seats per week between New Zealand and China.
