New Sea Fury For Sale
News last month was that the Wangaratta based Sea Fury FB10, VH-ORN, took to the air in Australia for the first time on August 10. Now comes news that the aircraft is for sale. The big Bristol Centaurus powered fighter is one of two for sale in Australia with the WA machine of Rob Poynton, VH-ISS, also up for sale. That aircraft has not been reported as having flown as yet although photos indicate that it is very close to flying. Both aircraft are for sale via the same agency. There are six Hawker Sea Furies/Furies on the Australian civil aircraft register. All retain the original Bristol engine unlike a number overseas that have been re-engined with a Pratt & Whitney power plant.
