Qantas has announced that it will introduce a range of Apple technology into its Qantas Club lounges across Australia, while it has also launched an iPhone application for its Frequent Flyer program.

“We are launching Sydney Qantas Lounges with the new technology from today, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth from November and Alice Springs, Cairns, Darwin, Hobart and Townsville from December,” Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said on October 26.

In addition, the airline has launched the Qantas Frequent Flyer iPhone app, which it says allows members to keep track of their points balance and also earning and burning opportunities. The app is available free of charge to iPhone users through the iTunes app store.

“Whether members are looking to fly, stay in a hotel, eat out, go shopping or hire a car, they can find and get directions to hundreds of partners near them. And, if you have an iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS, you can search partners, located around you, with an augmented reality view,” said Qantas Frequent Flyer chief executive Simon Hickey.
