The USAF has officially retired the last of its Boeing 737-200 based T-43 ‘Gator’ jet trainers at a ceremony at Randolph AFB in Texas on September 17.
The T-43 was primarily used to conduct the combat systems officer curriculum with the 562nd and 563rd Flying Training Squadrons, but will be replaced by a mix of simulators, T-6A Texan IIs, and T-1A Jayhawk (Beechjet 400) trainers.
