The Singapore Ministry of Defence has reportedly confirmed that it has selected the Aermacchi M-346 Master ahead of the Korean Aerospace T-50 to fulfil its Advanced Jet Trainer (AJT) requirement.
Although no official announcement has been made, Jane’s reports that Singaporean Ministry of Defence officials confirmed the selection on July 7 and that Korean Aerospace has been informed its bid was unsuccessful. Negotiations over a contract for the M-346s are expected to commence shortly.
