Virgin Blue has entered a new era with the retirement of founding CEO Brett Godfrey and his replacement by former Qantas executive general manager John Borghetti taking effect on May 8.
Godfrey was fittingly farewelled by colleagues, key industry executives, political figures and media during a dinner at Sydney’s Ivy Room on May 5, shortly before his last official day as boss of the airline he cofounded with Sir Richard Branson 10 years ago.
