The USAF has granted Boeing approval to commence low rate initial production for the C-130 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP) following a successful Defense Acquisition Board review.
The approval will see Boeing perform five AMP upgrades comprising a fully integrated, night vision goggle compatible, digital glass cockpit and new digital avionics that increase situational awareness and enhance safety. AMP will also provide cockpit commonality across various models of C-130E and H and special forces variants.
