Training for when it goes wrong

While there has been an increasing trend towards greater automation in aircraft, a some flying schools are beginning to offer courses which borrow from aerobatics to equip pilots to better manage emergency situations.

Emergency Manoeuvres Training (EMT) is a relatively new discipline in civilian flying training in Australia, and borrows heavily from aerobatic and military concepts to increase a student’s ability to control their aircraft, particularly when they find themselves in an unusual situation.
