Aerial Ag
Big, sophisticated aerial application
The days of aerial application aircraft being thought of as small, cheap and underpowered are long gone, and the debut of the latest Air Tractor firebomber – the AT1002 – is proof that big, sophisticated and aerial application go together very well.
The AT1002 is the latest in the ongoing development of ag and firefighting aircraft and certification is anticipated in 2010. It is a large aircraft for aerial application with a useful load of 10,800 pounds (4,900 kg). The AT1002 features the Pratt and Whitney PT6A-67F which can provide up to 1600 horesepower.
