For the long haul – Qantas reconfigures A380s & 747s
While its falling profit grabbed the headlines, equally interesting was Qantas’s revelation of a $400 million plan to reconfigure its longhaul aircraft to better meet demand for its Business and Premium Economy classes.
The airline will be reconfiguring its fleet of A380s and 747-400s, including in some cases removing First Class, adding more Economy and Premium Economy seats, while Business Class will be standardised on the second-generation Skybed which debuted on the A380 in 2008.
