Borghetti to build on success

There has possibly been no clearer sign of a seismic shift up market in Virgin Blue’s offering than the appointment of former Qantas Executive GM John Borghetti, 54, to take the reins from retiring co-founder and CEO Brett Godfrey.
Borghetti a 34-year veteran of everything Qantas is it would seem the perfect person to take a model that is working just fine and refine it.
Borghetti, who will take over in May, would not discuss his plans when asked by Contrails, but it is widely believed he will also endorse a plan to buy 777-200LRs for the group’s V Australia subsidiary in order to launch nonstop Perth-London Heathrow and Sydney-New York JFK service. LHR-SYD also is a possibility.
