The new agreement will see RR guarantee a level of engine availability, and follows on from an existing support contract in place since 2001. Support for the engines will be provided at RAF Coningsby, with a second centre opening this year at RAF Leuchars, while most engine repairs are undertaken at RR facilities in Ansty and Bristol.
