Regional Express has announced that it will add direct Mount Isa-Townsville flights to its network of northern Queensland services from January 31 2010.
“We are starting this service in response to the persistent and genuine pleas from the local community for an air service to Townsville that is affordable and which has a business-friendly schedule,” said Rex’s GM of network strategy Warrick Lodge. Lodge added that the service will complement its recently awarded Northern 2 route which links Mount Isa to Townsville via Julia Creek, Richmond and Hughenden three times per week.
