Gold Coast based Australian Wings Academy has started training its first group of cadet pilots from Malaysian low cost carrier AirAsia after it secured a contract with the airline earlier this year.
“AWA is delighted and extremely proud to have been selected by AirAsia as their Australian flight training partner,” said Phil Sweeney, director of AWA. “AirAsia demands a high quality pilot training academy that focuses on delivering what the airline wants by utilising multicrew airline style training concepts from the very first lesson. This contract is a fillip for the industry and AWA.”
