How do you get experience without a job? How do you get a job without experience? For the average new commercial pilot those two questions will be on the tip of their tongue as they seek that all elusive first job.
The new-start may have had good instruction on how to become a commercial pilot but the comment from charter operators and flight schools alike is that new commercial pilots lack the savvy that really makes them valued flight crew. For those new commercial pilots it makes little difference if he or she goes into instructing or charter. Both cases will be single engine, VFR and with lots to learn.
