IN GOOD HANDS The Jeppesen and Michelin scholarship winners reinforce that the future of regional aviation is in safe hands. (Paul Sadler)
Convention success
The 9th RAAA Convention at Coolum, Queensland, was a stimulating mix of new ideas, fun, fellowship and a little controversy.
Exhibitor numbers were up, delegate numbers steady at nearly 300 and operator numbers down slightly. With operators being hurt by record fuel prices it was predictable and understandable that some decided to stay at home in 2008. But with a special, expanded 10th Convention being planned for 2009, all stops will be pulled out to ensure that a record number of operators attend. They are the people who deliver most of the services and are the core of the regional aviation industry.
