Virgin Blue Sets Out Sydney Growth

Virgin Blue opened a new ‘The Lounge’ at Sydney Airport’s T2 on September 2, using the occasion to showcase its business and premium economy class products for its V Australia international offshoot, and to announce the establishment of a new crew base in Sydney to drive its growth from that city.

The new 1815m2 Lounge is located in the former Ansett Golden Wing Lounge in the centre of T2. It features a long bar, a substantial food service area, spacious and comfortable lounge and bar stool seating, private meeting rooms, a dedicated ‘business zone’ with internet computers, and can accommodate up to 400 guests in an area about three times the size of the previous Lounge. The entrance to the new Lounge is immediately after passengers pass through security at T2, while the exit is via an escalator into the food court in the central part of the terminal.
