Victoria’s regional airline secret

Sharp Airlines, founded in 1990 in the late Sir Reginald Ansett’s launching pad of Hamilton in western Victoria, has surprised its owners with the rapid expansion of its business in the past two years.

The prospects keep opening up for the regional airline, which had aimed to consolidate its operations in 2007- 2008 after doubling its business on the previous financial year – only to boost it substantially again by taking over two routes previously operated by failed South Australian airline O’Connor.
