Following our story on ‘Aviation Maintenance in Australia’ in our April issue, Paul Bredereck, the CEO of the acclaimed Aviation Australia maintenance training centre in Brisbane and vice president of the Australian Aviation Council (AUSAC), wrote in to give his views on some of our respondents’ comments. I read with interest your article on ‘Maintaining the Edge’ in April AA.

It still amazes me that so many of the very senior people you have interviewed still do not have in place adequate strategies to address the urgency of the looming engineer shortage.
