Hats Off to Nowra
the Navy’s Hmas Albatross Base at Nowra Has Been Selected as the Home of the Adf’s Forthcoming Joint Helicopter School, to Be Established as Part of the Air 9000 Phase 7 Helicopter Aircrew Training System (Hats).
The New $100 Million School Will Be Established by 2013 to Train Up to 60 Pilots, 40 Aircrewmen/loadmasters and 12 Observers Per Year for Army and Navy Mrh‑90, Black Hawk, Chinook, Tiger, Seahawk and Seasprite Helicopters. The Training Will Be Conducted on a New Common Type That Will Replace Army Kiowa and Navy Squirrel Training Helicopters.
