Volvo Has Joined Bmw Rolls-royce On The Br715 Engine Programme, Becoming Responsible For Design, Development And Production Of The Intermediate Compressor Case. The case represents 4.5% of the total BR715 production content. The BR715 is the second member of the BR700 series, and has thus far been selected for the McDonnell Douglas MD-95.

Atr Restrictions Applied Then Eased
The crash of an American Eagle ATR 72 regional turboprop, apparently due to icing-induced aerodynamic aileron lock near Chicago last October, resulted in a quick response from the US FAA, banning the aircraft and its smaller ATR 42 version from flying in known or forecast icing conditions.
Transport Canada followed the FAA with the result that 168 US and Canadian registered ATR 42/72s had to be transferred to duties in warmer climates, causing chaos to their operators’ schedules and planning.
