Oshkosh Colour Report
Oshkosh 1994 — Definitely on an Upswing
If the 1994 EAA Oshkosh Convention was any measure of the current state of the General Aviation (GA) industry in America, then it looks like the economic upturn has definitely started. Given the huge crowds that attend Oshkosh, it is the ideal focal point for the GA industry to promote its wares, and this year it did just that with a level of confidence not seen since the late eighties.
For a person visiting Oshkosh for the first time, it is simply an overwhelming experience. There are aeroplanes as far as the eye can see, in all directions and in every colour, shape, size, and make imaginable. Nothing can prepare you for the sheer size of the event; however, by going to the convention over several years, one can notice subtle changes and pick up trends.
