Gordon Glynn's PZL TS-11 Iskra took to the skies in early June 1994, and is pictured here taking off from RAAF Williamtown (not RMF) where it performed test trials before returning to Bankstown. This aircraft, registration VH-ADG, is finished in its original Polish Air Force livery with the tactical number "816".

Ts-11 Iskra Flies
Gordon Glynn’s TS-11 Iskra (Spark), VH-ADG (1H0816) made its first flight following overhaul on Saturday June 4 at Bankstown, NSW. The flight was piloted by John Hamilton. John, who flies for Qantas, is an ex-RAN pilot and has A-4 Skyhawk and A-7 Corsair flight time logged away. Gordon obtained two Iskras from Arrow Crest. The second machine has still to be overhauled. TS-11 s/n 1H0816 was registered as VH-ADG on October 21, 1993. Winrye Aviation of Bankstown restored the jet.
Meanwhile, from Western Australia we learn that of the three TS-11 Iskra jet trainers held by Arrow Crest Equities one has been sold to Mike Falls Snr of Melbourne and was noted in the Mike Falls Shortstop Jet Charter hangar at Essendon in early June. All three aircraft had been the mounts of the Polish Air Force aerobatic team and as such had a special red and white colour scheme with sunburst type markings on the wings. Mike Falls’ machine, s/n 1H0608, is marked as having been aircraft number three in the aerobatic team.
