After Hours -Microsoft Flight Simulator Five
Microsoft Flight Simulator Version 5 With CH Flightstick Pro
Looking ahead over the cockpit coaming, I can see the runway stretching ahead of the Cessna Skylane RG.
Light reflects off the windows of the high rise buildings in downtown Chicago. High level cirrus streaks the sky and it looks like another fine flying day. Back to the task in hand, I see the concrete runway is marked with tyre stripes from past touchdowns. As I open the throttle to full the nose dips. “Damn, I have forgotten to release the brakes!” I admonish myself. With the brakes off, the nose leaps up and the Cessna trundles down the runway. At 50 knots (95km/ h), I ease the nosewheel off, then lift off at 65 (120). Gear retraction is next, and I catch the trim change as the wheels move up and back. With the gear tucked away, the plane starts to perform, and I turn right and climb onto downwind for runway 360.
