An unrefuelled flight across the USA was made by the second Northrop F-20 Tigershark on December 1. The 2007 nautical mile flight from Edwards AFB in California to Andrews AFB, Maryland, took three hours and 47 minutes. It carried two wingtip AIM-9 Sidewinders and three 276 US gal external fuel tanks.
• The Bond Corporation has underwritten a $7 million rights issue in Airship Industries. A UK Certificate of Airworthiness for aerial work was awarded to the Skyship 500 last month. The third Skyship 500 (G-SKSB) was flown at Toronto on November 13 after assembly in a portion of the Wardair hangar leased by Airship Industries. The prototype Skyship 600 is nearing completion at Cardington and a fourth 500 and second 600 are committed to production.
