Boeing 737 Fleet Update
The Boeing 737 continues its dominance of airline fleets in the region with the recent announcement of additional units for both Air New Zealand and Ansett Australia.
Air New Zealand has purchased three Boeing 737-204 aircraft from Britannia Airways and with their delivery the Air New Zealand Boeing 737 fleet will rise to 15. The first Boeing 737-204 G-BJCT departed Britannia’s Luton base in early November on its ferry flight to Christchurch, where it was later registered ZK-NAA. The two remaining aircraft are G-BHWE, which is planned for delivery in December, and G-BHWF in February. On entry into service with Air New Zealand these aircraft will be registered ZK-NAB and ZK-NAI respectively. Boeing 767-204ER ZK-NBJ returned to Air New Zealand service on October 24 on termination of its lease to LOT/Poland. ZK-NBJ originally departed Auckland for Warsaw on March 24 before returning on October 19.
