Ct-4 Airtrainer Auction

The auction of the former RAAF CT-4 Airtrainers, held at Bankstown on Saturday, May 22, was anevent unlike any other seen in recent years and one not likely to be seen again.

With the closure of No 1 FTS at Point Cook, the CT-4 Airtrainers became surplus to requirements as the RAAF pilot training system was restructured to involve civilian flight screening at Tamworth and all through PC-9 training atPearce, WA. Of the CT-4 aircraft on RAAF charge 36 of these were ferried to Bankstown. Twenty CT-4s arriving on April 30 and the remaining 16 arrived on May 1.
