Southern Cross Floats Ambitious Plan to Relaunch Compass

Proposed new entrant, Southern Cross Airlines, surprised the aviation community during mid February with an ambitious plan to merge with the failed Compass.

For all intents and purposes the new Compass would essentially be what Southern Cross Airlines would have been – a two class mildly discounted carrier flying aircraft of around 140 seats. Almost exactly the opposite to what the original Compass aspired to be.

The benefits accruing to Southern Cross by taking this route are numerous to say the least. Firstly they inherit a completely operational airline infrastructure including trained technical and cabin crews, reservation and counter staff and admin specialists in addition to a fully functioning headquarters in Brisbane.
