There’s an old saying that truth is stranger than fiction. Well, some might think that’s stretching it a bit if you’re going to take it literally, but after what happened to me, I’d say it was an understatement.
I was an unrestricted private pilot with over 100 hours under my belt- well into what the old hands call the ‘danger period’. That’s the time in a pilot’s career when you’vehad enough experience to think you know all about it- but not enough to know you never will!
Anyhow, a mate and I had been planning for quite a while to take our girlfriends on a sightseeing flight over the Snowy Mountains.
